Some of the strips

This comic eBook was a part of marketing campaign for Identified (aquired by Workday, Inc in Feb. 2014).

GOAL: Present the product in an enetertaining and memorable way to gain users among recruiters.

ROLE: Led the design process, coordinated with a writer and marketing team on the content, developed characters and created illustrations.

The work included comic books research, specifically the the 60-s style, Ben-Day dots and comic book printing techniques, as well as the target audience.
 Mood boarding and core characters selection, maintaining the visual consistency throughout the book.


Black Angels Film

Preproduction:
Video proposal, Synopsis

Preproduction for the film about bikers, gangs’ oppositions, chopper renaissans... 



GOAL: Engage a particular director to work on the movie.

ROLE: Led the design process of preproduction, coordinated with producers, together with the team presented the Synopsis and video proposal to the directors, led and conducted photoshoots (motorcycles)
.

The process included motorcycles and related brands research, biker community and culture research, interviews, related films research, target audience (targeted directors and their styles; as well as film audience).

The logos were created as parts or branding campaings/ product which I worked on as well.


Films

Posters, Imagery

M.A.R.R.A. – a film about all-female crime organization directed by Jeanne Jo, PhD program.

GOAL: To create a visual imagery to use throughout the movie campaign.

ROLE: Coordinated with the director and producer to understnd the context and obtain all the needed information. Worked independently.

The process included understanding the context and the style of the movie, both visual and narrative, a competitive research of the movies with similar plot, styles and templates used for movie production.

 The working concept.

Soaring on Invisible Wings documentary – a daughter’s exploration into how families cope with Lupus, a chronic disease that her mother has battled for 30 years. Directed by Jamari Perry, Master's Program.

 The film was presented at the Cannes Festival, 2013 in Shortfilm corner.

GOAL: To create a visual imagery to use throughout the movie campaign in the US and abroad.

ROLE: Coordinated with the director and producer to understnd the context and obtain all the needed information. Worked independently.


The process included a research of the disease, affected people life styles, a remote interview, competitive research of the movies with similar plot.

 The butterfly wing filled with moments of support and battle is a metaphor to lupus (the disease leaves butterfly-like spot on the nose. Due to this autoimmune disease the life of the affected person becomes as fragile as butterfly wing.) Implemented.


Drawing/ Painting

I attend drawing sessions when I have time, my favorite is fast sketching using sepia. I also like to compose a stillife at home or to join a painting class for a stillife session. I usually use tempera.


Rossica Expo

Book and visual imagery

Biennial international philatelic exhibition and auction.
 A 200+ pages promo book with 19 chapters each having custom illustration and collage, was made for the expo launch.

GOAL: To create a visual imagery to use throughout the movie campaign

ROLE: Worked with the expo director, with an editor in chief and writers, as well as independently.

The process included a research for each epoch, finding the representative materials and sourcing the rare pictures in libraries and online, obtaining an access to some private collections in order to gather the material for illustrations. 
I also created vector illustrations for each chapter, designed the template and worked on the book design and production including vendor and manufacturer communicating and vetting, signing the book for print.
